Bayer Leverkusen and Nigeria striker Victor Boniface shared shocking footage of his car accident on Sunday, but fortunately escaped with only minor injuries, MySportDab Reports.
The 23-year-old posted now-deleted images and videos on social media, showing his arm dripping with blood and a black sports car that appeared completely destroyed in the crash.
While fans were initially concerned, German tabloid Bild reported that Boniface is “doing well considering the circumstances” and has only sustained minor injuries, according to sources close to the player.
Following the incident, Boniface posted messages on social media, writing “God is the greatest” and “God says my time hasn’t come,” expressing his gratitude for surviving the accident.
Despite the harrowing event, Bayer Leverkusen have not yet commented publicly on Boniface’s condition. However, the forward seems to be recovering well and is expected to continue his strong season.
Boniface has been a crucial part of Leverkusen’s success since joining the club last season, helping them secure an unbeaten league and cup double, including their first-ever Bundesliga title.
The Nigerian striker has also made a big impact on the international stage, earning his first call-up to the Nigeria national team.
So far this season, Boniface has netted seven goals in 10 matches across all competitions. Despite missing a penalty on Saturday, he scored the decisive goal in Leverkusen’s 2-1 home win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Leverkusen are set to face Brest in the Champions League on Wednesday, and fans will be eager to see if Boniface will be fit to return to action following the accident.
