The draws for the 2024-25 EFL Cup quarterfinals has been confirmed with teams learning their opponents for the next round of the competition, MySportDab reports.

Liverpool won the last edition of the competition and are in line again to defend the trophy after edging out Brighton 5-2 at the Falmer Stadium to qualify for the quarterfinals.

The Merseyside outfit have been handed a relatively easy tie in the last eight. They will travel to St Mary’s Stadium to take Southampton.

Arsenal, who glide past Preston with a 3-0 away victory, have been paired against Crystal Palace. The Gunners will host Palace for a place in the last four of the competition.

Another interesting quarterfinal fixture to watch out for is Brentford against Newcastle United. After losing League match to Chelsea at the weekend, Newcastle United harvested a pound of flesh from the Blues, knocking them out of the competition with a 2-0 victory at St James Park.

They will take on Thomas Frank’s Brentford in what is expected to be a tightly-contested clash in the EFL Cup.

The biggest fixture of them all is Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur pairing. Tottenham Hotspur knocked out Manchester City with a 2-1 victory while Manchester United pummeled Leicester City 5-2.

The two teams will go head-to-head in what will be another tough cracker Carabao Cup Quarterfinal clash. United will travel to Tottenham Hotspur with the Red Devils having a chance to avenge their 2-0 league loss to the Ange Postecoglou-led side under former boss Erik ten Hag.
