Erik ten Hag Confirms Update on Rashford Injury Scare, Halftime Substitution

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed update on Marcus Rashford’s injury scare during United’s 3-3 draw with Porto, MySportDab reports.

Rashford opened the scoring for Manchester United in the game with a brilliant solo effort in the 7th minute but did not re-emerge into the lineup again in the second half.

He was subbed off with Alejandro Garnacho coming on. The surprising substitution sparked concerns with United fans fearing the forward must have been hurled off due to an injury scare.

However, Erik ten Hag has come out to dispel rumors of a potential injury for the player. Speaking after the match, the Dutch tactician revealed he subbed off the player for rotation reasons not injury.

“We had to rotate. Garnacho, we didn’t start him, he had a great game not only on Sunday but the whole season. On Sunday we have another hard game, a good game, so we need players to be available, fit and fresh,” ten Hag said.

After Marcus Rashford’s goal, Ramus Hojlund doubled the lead for Manchester United but it took Porto 14 minutes to force the visitors to a dramatic 2-2 draw before the break.

Goals from Pepe and Samu Omorodion pegged back the Premier League contingents to a draw.  Omorodion was on target again in the second half to complete the stunning comeback for the hosts.

However, they couldn’t preserve the lead. Harry Maguire scored a late header to ensure United salvage a point from the game even without Bruno Fernandes, who was sent off for a second yellow card in the 81st minute.
