Former EPL Footballer Found Dead In a Pool in His Home

Former Premier League footballer George Baldock has been found dead in a swimming pool at his home in Greece, MySportDab reports.

The 31-year-old former Sheffield United player reportedly left the shores of English football and joined Greek club Panathinaikos last summer.

He reportedly went missing at his Greek home for several hours before his body was found in the pool after a long search.

His wife is said to have attempted to contact him via phone call for several hours but could not with his phone switched off.

After a long search, his body was then found in the pool inside the home and he was lifeless at this point.

Tributes have poured in from various quarters with Manchester United defender Harry Maguire leading the list of footballers paying last respect for the deceased.

His former club Sheffield United also shared touching tributes including Milton Keynes, Northampton, and other clubs that he played.

Although he was born and raised in England, Baldock chose to represent Greece at the international level.

He made his Greece senior national team debut in 2022 and won 12 caps with the team. He was expected to make Greece’s squad for the October UEFA Nations League fixtures but was ruled out due to injury.

The circumstances of Baldock’s death have been mysterious with investigations set to be conducted to unravel the cause of the demise.
