Real Madrid temporarily closed the gap on the La Liga top to a point with a 2-1 victory over Celta Vigo, MySportDab reports.
Goals from Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr were enough to secure a deserved victory for the defending Champions.
The visitors were set to cruise to victory from the start with a dominant performance. They had gone into the game trailing League leaders Barcelona by three points and needed victory to close the gap and relaunch themselves into the title race.
After dominating possession, they broke the deadlock a few minutes after the kickoff.
Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring for the away side in the 20th minute and the goal was enough to send the Galacticos to the break with a lead.
In the second half, Celta Vigo fought back to net the leveller. A stunning goal by Swedberg in the 51st minute tied the score at 1-1 draw.
However, Real Madrid would fight back to retake the lead exactly at the hour-mark. Brazilian forward Vinicius scored the third goal of the match and the match-winner as the European champions raced to a 2-1 victory.
The victory has seen Real Madrid temporarily close the gap on Barcelona to just a good difference. They are now on the same points as the La Liga leaders but have five goals less.
Barcelona will have a chance to recover their three-point lead at the top when they take on Sevilla away from home today.
As usual, the La Liga title race is shaping up with the two clubs set to challenge for the title.
