Spain have continued on their unbeaten start to the 2024 UEFA Nations League campaign, MySportDab reports.
The reigning European champions edged out Denmark 1-0 to go top of League A Group 42 with 7 points from three matches.
It nearly ended in a draw as Denmark, who had won their first two matches in the group against Switzerland and Serbia, attempted to pull an upset against La Roja.
Spain dominated proceedings but couldn’t find a breakthrough until the 79th minute. In-between, they struggled with a number of potent attacking threats by the visitors.
David Raya was forced into a series of saves as the Danish team mounted pressure, attempting to take the lead when the score was barren.
Spain also had a slew of chances from open play but could not break through the solid defense of the resilient Danish side.
It took the team 11 minutes before regulation time to fire the team to score the lone goal in the match and fire the team to victory.
Denmark gathered momentum late into the game, attempting to pull an equalizer but failed to stage a comeback.
Meanwhile, Martin Zubimendi’s goal was enough to fire the 2024 Euro Champions past the hard-fighting Danish side.
The win has seen the Luis de La Fuente-led side maintain their unbeaten start to the competition while Denmark suffered their first defeat following the loss.
