Lamine Yamal Wins 2024 Kopa Trophy

Lamine Yamal has won the 2024 Kopa Trophy following standout performances for club and country in the 2023-24 football season, MySportDab reports.

The 18-year-old Barcelona youngster saw off the competition from Real Madrid’s Arda Guler to clinch the award.

Arda Guler finished second on the Kopa Trophy rankings after winning the La Liga and UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid last season.

Another promising youngster Kobbie Mainoo of Manchester United came third on the rankings behind Guler and Yamal. Manchester City’s Savinho finished fourth on the ranking while Lamine Yamal’s Barcelona teammate Pau Cubarsi came fifth.

Lamine Yamal emerged winner of the following his heroics for Barcelona and Spain national team. The youngster played a crucial role as in Barcelona’s squad last season.

He record 10 goal contributions in La Liga for the Catalans, scoring five goals with five assists in 37 appearances.

On the international scene, Yamal showed no signs of slowing down as he played a crucial role in Spain’s buildup to the 2024 Euro triumph.

He recorded five goals contributions in the tournament, scoring once and registering 4 assists and was awarded the Best Young Player of the Tournament following his standout performances.

His goal in the tournament made him the first youngest player to score in a major international tournament. Coupled with other brilliant records and flashes of standout performances, he was tipped to win the award without much ado.

Yamal joins the list of other Barcelona youngsters such as Gavi who have clinched the award and will be hoping to continue on his top-level performances at club and the international scene.
