Nigeria Learns Opponents as 2024 FIFA U-17 WWC Quarterfinal Draws CONFIRMED

Nigeria have learned their opponents for the ongoing 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, MySportDab reports.

The Flamingos, who have been on a fairy tale journey in the tournament will battle for place in the last four of the competition against other eight teams.

The draws for the first knockout round followed the conclusion of the group stages of the competition on Thursday.

Asian contingents North Korea sailed past European contingents England with a thumping 4-0 victory to book their place in the last eight of the competition.

North American contingents Mexico were bundled out of the competition after losing 2-1 to Kenya in the final group match. The latter progressed to the next round of the competition, taking the number of African contingents, qualifying to the knockout, to two in addition to Nigeria.

Brazil were bundled out after settling for a barren draw against Poland with the latter joining Japan to progress to the next round of the competition.

Nigeria qualified for the next round of the competition after fishing top of Group A with maximum 9 points in three games.

The Falconets wrapped up their group game with a 1-0 victory over hosts Dominican Republic.

With the Group stages of the competition concluded, the draws for the quarterfinals has been confirmed as follows;

Nigeria will take on the United States in the first match on Saturday while North Korea battles Poland on Sunday.

Still on Sunday, Spain will clash with Ecuador while Japan trade tackles with England on Monday.
