Ruben Amorim’s Arrival Date at Manchester United CONFIRMED!

Ruben Amorim’s arrival date at Manchester United as new manager has been confirmed, MySportDab reports.

United parted ways with former boss Erik ten Hag and are close to bringing onboard Ruben Amorim of Sporting Lisbon as new manager.

MySportDab understands United have been in long talks with Amorim long before they sacked Erik ten Hag.

Personal terms have been settled with the Portuguese, as per reports, and he was expected to arrive and be confirmed as new Man United manager before the club’s next Premier League match against Chelsea on Sunday, November 3, 2024.

Now, that will not be the case due to a crop of hold-backs in the negotiations with Sporting Lisbon.

Sporting Lisbon confirmed United have agreed to trigger Amorim’s release clause worth £8.9million.

However, another clause – a 30-day timeline to sanction Amorim’s release – has yet to be triggered.

They are reportedly demanding £3million more to break the 30-day clause and allow Amorim leave immediately.

At the time of filing this report, United are reportedly not eager to pay up the clause, having fork out £8.9m for Amorim’s release clause and also paying £13m for Erik ten Hag’s severance package.

Also, reports close to the Portuguese club have revealed they are bent on keeping Ruben Amorim as long as the next international break in November before letting him leave.

This means United’s interim manager Ruud Van Nistelroy could take charge of more games before Amorim is unveiled as the club’s new manager.

Nistelroy impressed on his first match in-charge of Manchester United, leading the team to a 5-2 thrashing of Leicester City in EFL Cup round-of-16 clash.

He is now set to take charge of United’s crunch Premier League tie against Chelsea at the weekend.

The former United player-turned-coach could as well go on to take charge of Man United’s Europa League fixture against POAK on November 2, 2024 and a Premier League clash against Leicester City on November 7, 2024 before Ruben Amorim’s arrival.
