Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has issued a statement on racist abuse on Barcelona players during El Clasico, MySportDab reports.
The Brazilian took to his X handle to condemn the attack on his opponents and called on Real Madrid and Spanish authorities to fish out the perpetrators and bring them to Justice.
Retweeting Real Madrid’s statement to the effect of the alleged abuse, the 25-year-old wrote;
“It is regrettable what happened yesterday at the Bernabeu with racist insults. There is no place for this criminals in our society.
“All my support to Lamine, Ansu, and Raphinha. I know that Madrid and the police will do things to identify and punish the guilty,” his translated message reads.
Barcelona trio Lamine Yamal, Raphinha , and Ansu Fati were reportedly targeted for racial abuse by the Real Madrid fans during the El-Clasico cracker at Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.
Lamine, who netted Barcelona’s third goal of the match, saw racial slurs hurled on him when he celebrated his goal in front of Real Madrid fans.
Raphinha also suffered the same fate, including Ansu Fati, leading to the calls to have the defaulting fans punished.
Vinicius Jr’s message further buttresses the integrity of the player and his resolve to stand up against all forms of racism in Spanish football irrespective of the victims.
The Brazilian forward has been the focal point of the fight against racial attacks in Spanish football and has frequently been targeted by opposing fans during matches.
Spanish football governing bodies and other relevant authorities have condemned the attacks on Barcelona players with reports investigation has begun to track down the culprits.
