Vinicius Jr Reacts to Losing 2024 Ballon d’Or Award to Rodri

Vinicius Jr has finally spoken after he lost the 2024 Men’s Ballon d’Or award to Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri, MySportDab reports.

The Brazilian footballing sensation was a top favorite for the coveted football award, having won the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League with sparkles of brilliant performances for Real Madrid.

He starred in the UEFA Champions League, scoring six goals with 4 assists, including a match-winner in the final against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.

In La Liga, Vinicius Jr bagged a sky-high 20 goal contributions, comprising 16 goals with four assists as Los Blancos aced the Spanish Championship.

The series of brilliant performances and spectacular records saw him emerge on the pole position to clinch the coveted football award before being undone by Rodri.

Now, reacting to the snub by the Ballon d’Or organizers, the Real Madrid sensation reassert his readiness to continue on his top-level performances despite the Ballon d’Or deadlock.

He wrote on X, “I’ll do 10x more, if I have to. They are not ready.”

The 24-year-old came second on the Ballon d’Or rankings behind Rodri, who became the first Premier League player to win the award in 16 years after Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008.

Rodri had an equally sterling campaign for club and country in the 2023-24 football season. He won the Premier titles title with Manchester City, scoring 8 goals with 9 assists.

He also played a key role as Manchester City reached the semifinals of the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League and would wrap up a brilliant football year with 2024 Euro triumph.
