Arsenal will miss another top midfielder in their 2024-25 Champions League matchday four clash against Inter Milan, MySportDab reports.

In a rematch of the 2003 UEFA Champions League group stage clash between the two sides, Arsenal will trade tackles with the Serie A giants at the San Siro in what will be a ‘game of the week’ UCL matchup.

A dramatic double-header group stage clash between the two teams in 2003 ended with a win apiece and that has been the sides’ only meeting in the competition.

Inter won at the Emirates in the first match and Arsenal won at the San Siro in the second match.

The two sides renew hostilities today with Arsenal looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the competition away in Italy as well as Inter.

However, the Gunners are going to miss one of their key midfielders in the clash.

£105m 2023 signing from West Ham United Declan Rice will miss the match. The England midfield sensation has not travelled with the Gunners’ squad to Italy for the cracker.

Sources close to the club revealed he picked up an injury but the nature of the injury has yet to be disclosed.

Rice has been a key figure in Mikel Arteta and Arsenal’s midfield setup and will be greatly missed in the match.

He has featured in Arsenal’s all nine Premier League games this season and has an assist to his name. He also played the club’s all three Champions League matches and was in the running to make the 23-man rooster for the Inter cracker before the injury blow.

However, Arsenal have been handed a big boost in Rice’s absence from the squad with their captain and Norwegian sensation Martin Odegaard back to the grass and making the travelling squad.

However, it is yet unclear whether he will feature in the match but his presence is a big boost to Mikel Arteta, who has glaringly missed the midfielder in a three-match winless run in the Premier League.
