Arsenal Player Dropped From National Team, Under Investigation For Rape

An Arsenal player has been dropped from his national team as he came under the radars of the UK police for multiple rape allegations, MySportDab reports.

The player, who is said to be in his 30s, was reportedly arrested back in 2022 following rape allegations. However, he was released to continue his career after the police could not have a clear evidence to prosecute him.

He was rearrested again on similar allegations and interrogated by the police before being let off the hook to continue his career.

Now, following fresh allegations by two women, including a third woman, he has been reportedly been invited by the police again for interrogations and investigation.

Due to police’s proceedings, he has been dropped from his national team for the November international break and will only be recalled when cleared by the police.

While the name of the player has yet to be mentioned for privacy and legal reasons since he is not tried or convicted, it is well-known that Arsenal star Thomas Partey has been under the radar of the UK police since 2021.

Partey’s former girlfriend Sara Bella accused him of rape and reported to the police but it was later discovered that she wanted to set up the player for punishment after he failed on his promise to marry her.

Partey was arrested on the instant of the allegations but was freed after coming out unscathed.

It is yet unclear whether he is the one being investigated by the police for fresh allegations but has been dropped from Ghana squad for November international break.

Ghana head coach Otto Addo refused to reveal why he dropped the player from the team but it is understood the decision is likely to be linked with police investigations into alleged sex offences by the footballer.
