BREAKING: Benjamin Mendy WIN Legal Case Against Man City

Benjamin Mendy have won his legal case against Manchester City over unpaid wages during his time behind bars, MySportDab reports.

The defender has resumed his career not long ago but was in another battle in court with his former club who were owing him.

Benjamin Mendy has won his legal case against City, which had withheld over £11 million in wages during his suspension.

He wasn’t paid while in detention following serious charges that led to a prolonged legal battle.

Although Mendy was acquitted of all charges in 2023, Manchester City had stopped paying his salary from September 2021.

His former team argued he was unable to fulfill his duties while in custody and suspended by the Football Association.

According to Transfer News Live, they confirmed the player have won the case against Manchester City.

Here Is What Was Said:

“Benjamin Mendy has won his legal battle against Manchester City for the majority of his unpaid wages.

In the tribunal, Mendy argued that he was financially devastated, facing challenges such as covering legal fees, supporting his family, and even paying child support.

To manage, he reportedly had to borrow money from teammates like Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva.

The judge ruled that Manchester City should compensate Mendy for the periods he was available to work while suspended but did not order back pay for the time he spent in custody.

This ruling highlights the complexities of employer obligations under suspension and detention, especially when charges are ultimately dropped.

Following his release, Mendy has resumed his career, currently playing for Lorient in France and has been doing well.
