Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel reached a significant career milestone on Sunday, marking his 100th Super Lig appearance in Fenerbahce’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Sivasspor, MySportDab Reports.
The Nigerian international joined Fenerbahce from English side QPR in 2021 to gain top-flight experience and has since become a valuable asset in Fenerbahce’s defensive setup at the Ulker Stadium Sukru Saracoglu.
Despite his consistent performances, Osayi-Samuel is yet to lift a Super Lig title with Fenerbahce, as Galatasaray, Trabzonspor, and Besiktas have dominated the last four seasons.
Under the leadership of manager Jose Mourinho, Osayi-Samuel has continued to grow in prominence, recording his fifth league appearance of the season in Sunday’s match.
The game saw Fenerbahce showcase their firepower, with goals from Samet Akaydin, Dusan Tadic, Sofyan Amrabat, and Allan Saint-Maximin sealing a comfortable win over Sivasspor.
However, it was Osayi-Samuel’s personal achievement that highlighted the occasion. Expressing his pride, he took to social media after the match to thank the fans and reaffirm his commitment to the club: “I am honored and proud to play my 100th match in your presence on this important day. I am always ready to give my everything to be worthy of you. The biggest Fenerbahçe.”
The defender’s celebration comes just days before he joins the Nigerian national team for crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Rwanda and Benin.
Buoyed by his recent achievement, Osayi-Samuel aims to bring his fine form into Nigeria’s upcoming fixtures as the Super Eagles look to secure a place in the tournament.
Fenerbahce, meanwhile, remain focused on maintaining their strong league form as they chase their first Super Lig title in five years.
