Real Madrid have closed up on Barcelona in the La Liga title race following La Liga matchday victory over Leganes, MySportDab reports.
Los Blancos went into the game trailing Barcelona by seven points and needed victory to close up on the La Liga title hopefuls and arch-domestic rivals.
Kylian Mbappe scored his 8th La Liga goal, opening the scoring for the reigning La Liga and European champions in the 43rd minute.
The goal made all the difference in the first half as they held on to go into the break with a narrow 1-0 lead.
In the second half, the visitors continued on the ascendancy after taking the lead and it wasn’t long before they doubled the lead.
Uruguayan international Federico Valverde scored six minutes after the hour mark to double the lead, thanks to a brilliant assist by Arda Guler.
Despite going two goals up, the Carlo Ancelotti-led side continued dominating proceedings with Leganes struggling to match the visitors’ display.
Five minutes to regulation time, Jude Bellingham put the game beyond the hosts with a third goal for the away side.
Substitute Brahim Diaz would have nailed home the third goal before Bellingham but his attempt ricocheted against the crossbar and Bellingham was right in place to nod it home and register his second La Liga goal this season.
Bellingham’s strike wrapped up a deserved 3-0 victory for Los Blancos with the team now four points away from table-toppers Barcelona with a game in hand.
