Chelsea right-back Reece James has picked up an injury again just a few weeks after returning from the sidelines, MySportDab reports.

James has been battling a grinding hamstring injury that has nearly submerged and drown his career. It became worse in the 2023-24 season, when he nearly missed the entirety of the campaign.

He could only manage 10 Premier League appearances for the club in the campaign and was frequenting to and fro the sidelines.

The most challenging issue for the player has been the rate at which has frequents the sidelines with injuries.

He recently returned to action this season, made four Premier League appearances for the club, and was in line to feature against Leicester City in the Blues’ first fixture after the international break.

Now, Chelsea new manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed the player has been injured and will miss action against the Foxes at the weekend.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Maresca, who was economical with the nature of the injury, said James felt ‘something small’ and will not be lined up against Leicester City.

The Italian football coach appeared to make light of the issue, revealing the player is just excluded from the squad for the Leicester City as a precautionary measure.

“Unfortunately Reece felt something small and we don’t want to take a risk for this game,” he said.

It is hope the latest blow will not spiral into a lengthy injury layoff for Reece James. Regarded as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League, he was quick to cement his place in Enzo Maresca’s squad following his return from the sidelines.
