Ruben Amorim Hit With Fresh Injury Blow Ahead of His First Man United Match

New Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim may have to begin his reign missing one of his defensive options, MySportDab reports.

The former Sporting Lisbon manager will kick off his reign as Man United manager with a Premier League fixture against newly-promoted side Ipswich Town on November 24.

He arrived Manchester on Monday, November 11, to resume in the United’s dugout and is ready to set sail on the new chapter of his managerial journey.

Ahead of his first match, United have been dealt with a another injury in the defense.

Victor Lindelof, who was called for Sweden’s UEFA Nations League fixtures in the international break, picked up an ankle injury during the team’s 2-1 victory over Slovakia.

The defender limped off the field with an assistance due to the injury. Details of the blow has yet to be revealed but it appears he may not continue action with the national team.

Ruben Amorim plays a 3-4-3 formation with three defenders usually lineup in the Portuguese’s tactical structure.

Lindelof has struggled to nail down a regular spot in the United squad throughout his seven-year stint with the club but was expected to fight for his place in Amorim’s projected United setup.

Away from Lindelof, Amorim has received defensive boost with the likes of Leny Yoro and Tyrell Malacia back to the squad.

However, it is still unclear who is likely to make it to Amorim’s defense setup with the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui, and Matthijs de Ligt top contenders for a starting role at the back.
