Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has broken his silence on his Liverpool future, MySportDab reports.

The Reds skipper’s future has been a subject of speculation as he has yet to renew his contract with the club.

He has literally seven months left on his deal and has been linked to a move away from the club this summer with top European clubs monitoring his contract situation at Anfield.

In January 2025, he will be free to enter into pre-contract talks with interested clubs as a new deal has yet to be agreed.

This has heightened speculations that he is more likely to leave than stay beyond this season.

Now, addressing rumours and speculations on his Liverpool future, Van Dijk left fans and pundits in the dark as to his decision on continuing with the Merseyside outfit.

When asked whether he will sign a new contract or not, he responded thus;

“What a direct question. I have nothing to say. J am focused on the next game vs City,” Fabrizio Romano quotes.

Van Dijk put up an impressive Champions League performance as Real Madrid avenge their eight-match winless run against Real Madrid at Anfield.

Goals from Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo saw the Reds eased to a 2-0 victory to continue on their perfect start to the campaign.

While new manager Arne Slot is working wonders with the Reds, fans have been treated to a wary prospect of losing the trio of Van Dijk, Mo Salah, and Trent Alexander-Arnold this season.

The trio have yet to renew their contracts with the January and summer transfer window fast approaching.

Salah recently voiced out his frustration with lack of a new offer from the club as he was running out of time for a new contract.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid with reports the Los Blancos are set to open talks for the services of the 26-year-old.
