Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has broken his silence on the apparent rift between him and and his teammate Rasmus Hojlund, MySportDab reports.
The two Manchester United forwards hugged the headlines for in-play rift during the club’s Europa League matchday 6 clash against Viktoria Pizen in Czechia.
In footage that made the rounds on social media, they were seen descending into war of words after the final whistle.
Eagle-eyed Man United fans were quick to spot the reason for the rift – lack of co-operation between the pair.
They had refused to pass the ball to each other with Rasmus Hojlund visibly complaining at one occasion.
Meanwhile, Man United manager Ruben Amorim played down the fallout in his post-match press conference. According to the Portuguese tactician, it was not anything negative that the two players squared up against each other.
Rather, it is more of a positive energy and display of commitment and desire to get things right and help the team.
While Amorim seemed to dismiss the fallout, speculations have been rife among fans that the two players must have fallen out deeply after the clash.
Now, Diallo has moved to put the records straight. Taking to his Instagram handle, the Ivorian footballer posted footage of him and Hojlund sharing a handshake in the Pizen match.
He tagged the Danish forward and added a red heart plus ‘a crossed fingers’ emoji to send message to the fans that he has nothing personal against the teammate.
Hojlund capped his meteoric rise under Ruben Amorim in the match, spearheading United’s dramatic comeback against Czech side.
Coming from the bench, the fast-rising forward ramped up his European tally with United to 10 goals with a quickfire brace that overturned the game in United’s favour.
He has now scored five goals in five matches under Amorim and is tipped to play a crucial role in the Portuguese’ planned setup at Old Trafford alongside Diallo.
