Liverpool fans could be bracing for Salah’s imminent exit from the club in the summer, MySportDab reports.
The prolific forward, who has been in the form of his life for the Reds, has yet to pen down a new contract with the club with just a few months left on his deal.
As with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, Salah will be free to talk to other clubs in a matter of two days from now.
He has been strongly linked with a move to PSG with Saudi clubs also set to throw their weight into signing the winger in the summer.
However, it is understood a contract offer is on the table from the Reds for the Egyptian but the two parties have yet to reach an agreement on a new deal.
After another impressive outing for the Reds against West Ham United at the London Stadium on Sunday, Salah was grilled on the state of negotiations with Liverpool on the new offer and his response was grim.
According to him, there are no ‘positives’ as he and the club are ‘far’ from agreeing a new deal.
”We are far from a positive outcome on that (new deal). ‘I don’t want to put something in the media and people start saying stuff, but nothing really [has] moved on,” he said.
Salah’s contract standoff with Liverpool marks what has been a worrying development between the club and their key players who are running out of contract.
England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dutch top-rated central defender and team captain Virgil van Dijk have also yet to broker new deals with Liverpool and could leave for free in the summer.
While new manager Arne Slot has played down the impact of the situation, it has been more of a concern for fans who wouldn’t want to lose the three top players in the same window.
Away from the dragging contract standoff, Salah has continued his elite-level performances for the Reds. Another five-star showing against West Ham United saw the 32-year-old nail home a hat-trick of goal contributions, comprising a goal and two assists, as the team put the Hammers to rout with a 5-0 away win.
