Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has confirmed update on his future at the club after the 3-1 home win over Leicester City in the Premier League, MySportDab reports.
The top-rated forward, who is perhaps on his best form with the Reds, scored his 16th Premier League goal as the Merseyside outfit roared from a goal down to a 3-1 victory over the Foxes.
Cody Gakpo scored at the stroke of the first half to cancel out Jordan Ayew’s 6th-minute opener before two second half goals by Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah sealed the dramatic comeback for the Arne Slot-led side.
The win saw the Reds open a widening seven-point gap on top of the Premier Leaguem table with a game hand.
Arguably, Mohamed Salah has been at the heart of the sudden revamp at Liverpool under new manager Arne Slot.
But ironically, the Egyptian forward is among the Reds’ three stalwarts, comprising captain Virgil van Dijk and right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract will expire at the end of the season.
After the game, he was quizzed on the state of affairs as per the uncertainties that has enshrouded his future at the club.
Responding to the query, he flipped the question and instead wished fans a merry Christmas.
”I want to tell [the fans] Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,’ Salah told Amazon Prime. ‘And I’ll see them in the next game here,” he responded.
MySportDab understands Salah, including Arnold and Van Dijk have all been offered a new contract by Liverpool but they have yet to reach an agreement.
Meanwhile, they have a few months left on their contract and will be free to enter into pre-contract talks with other clubs from January 1, 2025.
Salah has been specifically linked with a move to PSG and Saudi Arabia while Real Madrid are reportedly interested in Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Nevertheless, there is an air of optimism that Liverpool will still retain all the three players on new contracts despite the deadlock in negotiations.
Salah has 18 goals with 15 assists in all competitions for the Reds this season.
