Barcelona have confirmed a positive update on Dani Olmo and Pau Victor’s registration saga, MySportDab reports
Recall the two players have yet to be registered for the second half of the 2024-25 La Liga season due to the club’s financial problems.
It is understood the Catalan club had only register the duo for the first half of the season and were expected to renew their registration for the second chapter on or before December 31, 2024.
The deadline elapsed with the club unable to break even from their financial woes and settle scores with La Liga.
To quell tensions and foreclose what would have been a difficult and controversial chapter both for the club and the La Liga, the deadline for registration was extended till January 2, 2025.
However, it has been confirmed the club have yet to tick all the boxes and register the two players even with the extended deadline but there has even a positive as shared by @rac1 on X
According to the report, Barcelona have confirmed they have meet all requirements to register the players and also return the club to 1:1 FFP rule on December 3, 2024.
Meanwhile, it is still unclear whether La Liga have extended the initial deadline from December 2, 2025 to the new date as called by the Catalans.
At the time of filing this report both Olmo and Victor have been delisted from Barcelona squad by La Liga but the players themselves are hopeful of continuing with the club despite the setback.
Olmo joined Barcelona from RB Leipzig for £50m and has been a crucial part of new manager Hansi-Flick’s squad.
He has been linked to other top European clubs in the wake of the registration but has reiterated his unalloyed loyalty to the club.
