Barcelona have confirmed updates on the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, MySportDab reports.

The two players have yet to make an appearance for the La Liga title hopefuls in the second half of the season after the December break due to a dragging registration saga with La Liga.

Based on La Liga rules, the duo were expected to be re-registered for the second half of the season on or before December 31, 2024 as they were initially registered for only first half of the season due to financial constraints.

The December deadline elapsed with the club unable to complete the registration hence the duo were frozen out of the team.

Meanwhile, appeals to sports’ courts to waiver the rules and allow the registration was turned down, leaving the team at a loss navigating the deadlock.

Now, the club have confirmed a positive update on the registration much to the temporary relief of the fans.

In a statement on the its website, the club confirmed the two players have been registered and will be available for selection for both Spanish Super Cup matches against Real Madrid and La Liga fixtures.

However, MySportDab understands that the breakthrough is temporary, emanating from a decision of the Higher Sports Council to place injunction on La Liga and RFEF blockade and allow the club register the two players pending when judgement is made on their appeal.

While the drama is far from over, it has surely offered Barcelona a breather from piling fans’ pressure on the club’s management in the wake of the saga.
