Barcelona Step Up Move for Marcus Rashford

Barcelona have reportedly stepped up their move for Marcus Rashford, MySportDab reports.

The La Liga giants are among the clubs that have expressed interest in signing the England striker.

Rashford is on the exit route from Manchester United and is expected to leave this January after falling out of favour in new manager Ruben Amorim’s squad.

Top European clubs have expressed interest in the Man United prodigy with AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund being the most pronounced sides in the race for the forward.

Sources close to the footballer revealed his brother/agent had travelled to Italy for talks with AC Milan for the forward.

Also, talks are said to have been held with Juventus who are also considering a move for the 27-year-old.

Now, Barcelona have reportedly stepped up their move for the player amidst interest from rivals.

However, proceedings to sign the player are still at the early stages with the club monitoring the player, per Fabrizio Romano.

Rashford has a running five-year contract with Manchester United till 2028 but will leave the club this January.

It is understood that United are open to both a permanent or loan exit for the player but the stumbling block to his potential loan exit from the Old Trafford club is his wages.

He is the club’s highest-paid player with a weekly wage of £325,000. Projections are that Manchester United will be compelled to foot half of his wages to secure a loan exit for the player.

Barcelona are currently navigating through a tight financial situation and will not afford to foot the player’s humongous wage terms.

Hence the Catalan club are also likely to negotiate a wage waiver with United if they want to sign the player.
