Aston Villa have plunged into the race to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, MySportDab reports.
According to the latest report by Fabrizio Romano, the Villains have made enquiries about Rashford’s availability and readiness to join the club and have opened talks with United for a move.
Further details of the report reveal the Aston-based outfit only want a loan deal until the end is the season.
Rashford is open to Man United exit after felling off the pecking order in new Man United manager Ruben Amorim’s squad setup.
Sources close to the club reveal his relationship with the new gaffer has broken down completely.
The fallout was further attested to by Amorim’s decision to drop him from United’s Europa League matchday 8 clash against Steak Bucuresti in Romania on Thursday.
Barcelona were reportedly interested in signing him but latest reports claim the Catalan giants can’t push through a deal due to Financial Fair Play Rules.
AC Milan were also in the race, including Borussia Dortmund but were forced to withdraw due to the player’s high wage pecking.
Aston Villa’s shock move could offer the player an escape route away from the dragging deadlock at Old Trafford under Amorim.
However, it is still unclear whether the Unai Emery-led side will be able to pull through a deal before the close of the transfer window.
Meanwhile, the club are understood to be intent on signing a replacement attacker after selling Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr for €77million.
All fingers are currently crossed on Rashford’s fate with Villa now emerging as his potential destination.
