Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has broken his silence on Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move, MySportDab reports.
Real Madrid have been on the trail of Arnold since March 2024 and have now intensified their move for the player.
We reported earlier that the club have made their first contact with Liverpool to the effect of their interest in the player.
As expected, Liverpool had rejected the offer but Spanish outlets report that the Los Blancos aren’t giving up soon and will submit another offer to the Merseyside outfit for the top-rated defender.
While Los Blancos have stepped up their interest in Arnold, some reports claim that they are not keen on signing the player this January but clicking the buttons to pave for a summer.
Other reports say the club are still hopeful of a deal with Liverpool for the player this January.
Now, according to a quote shared by The Mirror, Real Madrid manager seemed to have put the contradictory reports to rest with a clear statement on the club’s transfer plan for January.
According to the Italian and European football veteran, Real Madrid will not sign any player in the January transfer window.
“January signings? It’s a bit more complicated to talk about this. We’ll see, we’ll see. Talking about this is not easy at the moment,”
Asked again about transfers, Ancelotti added:
“I said that we will not sign anyone in January before. Look, I can’t talk about it now. This is not the time and place. We will see what will happen but I have a great squad. We have got injuries and problems with that but we are also able to overcome them.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold is as priority transfer target for the LaLiga and European champions with Dani Carvajal nursing a season-ending injury and also close to the twilights of his career.
