Christopher Nkunku may call an end to his Chelsea spell this summer with a move to Bayern Munich now at the corner, MySportDab reports.
The former RB Leipzig and French attacking sensation has endured a torrid spell in the Blues’ shirt since he completed a summer switch to the club in 2023 for £53million.
From multiple and niggling injury blows to a bit-part role in the Blues’ regular IX, it has been a disappointing spell for the midfielder.
Meanwhile, he is tied to a long-term six-year contract till 2029 but may leave this season to breath life back into his career, per latest reports.
According to Florian Plettenberg of Plettigoal, Bayern Munich have agreed personal terms with Christopher Nkunku on a long-term contract and are ready to open talks with Chelsea for the player.
The report further reveals the Bundesliga giants are clear on their motives to sign the French attacking sensation not on a loan but permanent transfer.
They are also ready to offer Mathys Tel to the Blues plus cash to ramp up the move for Nkunku and possibly seal a deal this January.
It is understood Chelsea are open to signing Mathys Tel and have reportedly began talks with Bayern but it is still unclear whether they will sanction a swap offer that will bring Tel to Stamford Bridge while Nkunku moves in the opposite direction.
Despite struggling for game time in Enzo Maresca’s setup, Nkunku has been a key player for the Italian tactician in minor competitions this season.
He has two Premier League goals in 18 appearances with an assist, 3 in the EFL Cup, and 5 plus 3 assists in the UEFA Conference League.
