Barcelona’s efforts to register Spain international Dani Olmo have hit another roadblock, as the Court of First Instance 47 in Barcelona rejected the club’s second appeal to finalize his registration, MySportDab Repors.

Despite the uncertainty, Olmo’s agent, Andy Bara, has confirmed that the 25-year-old midfielder is committed to staying at Camp Nou.

Olmo joined Barcelona from RB Leipzig during the summer for a reported fee of £50 million. However, the club’s ongoing struggles with LaLiga’s stringent wage cap allowed them to register the player only for the first half of the season.

The rejection of Barcelona’s second appeal means Olmo could leave on a free transfer in January, a situation that has reportedly attracted interest from Manchester City and Manchester United.

Olmo’s contract includes a clause allowing him to depart without a transfer fee if the club cannot secure his registration due to financial constraints.

In a bid to resolve the issue, Barcelona is intensifying efforts to generate funds. The club is focusing on selling VIP seats for their new stadium, a move that could bring in an estimated £82.9 million.

This revenue would reportedly enable them to register Olmo and fellow player Pau Victor, who faces a similar predicament.

Despite the challenges, Bara dismissed any speculation about Olmo leaving. “The decision made by Dani is to stay at Barcelona as he wants to play for Barca. We are not considering any other option,” Bara stated.

Barcelona echoed this sentiment in a statement on Tuesday, confirming they had applied for a new licence to register Olmo and Victor. “FC Barcelona informs that it has applied for a new licence for the players Daniel Olmo and Pau Victor to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF),” the statement read.

The club also denied rumors of seeking financial relief from governing bodies, emphasizing their commitment to resolving the issue internally.

As the situation unfolds, Barcelona faces mounting pressure to secure the registration of two key players while adhering to LaLiga’s financial regulations.
