Dani Olmo’s registration update has been confirmed with the deadline for his registration now closed, MySportDab reports.
Olmo and Pau Victor have been dominating the headlines in La Liga recently as Barcelona grapples to re-register the two players after their registration deadline expired on December 31, 2024.
We reported earlier La Liga have granted the Catalan club waiver till January 3 to register the two players but at the time of filing this report, it is yet to be confirmed whether the registration has been completed.
However, according to Spanish outlet, @FCBRac1 on X, Barcelona have leveled all financial hurdles to return to 1:1 FFP rule and have been cleared to register the two players but approval will be needed by Spanish Football Federation.
Also, it has been confirmed the club may have to go through a court process to register the two players after the extended deadline for the registration also elapsed.
Olmo and Victor joined Barcelona last summer from RB Leipzig and Girona respectively and are considered key to the club’s project under manager Hansi Flick.
Olmo had already gotten off the bat, scoring 5 goals in 11 La Liga appearances and a goal plus assist in a 4 Champions League appearances for the club.
His agent recently confirmed that the registration saga is a frustrating experience but it is understood the player is intent on continuing his career with the Catalan giants.
Meanwhile, he has emerged as a top transfer target for elite European clubs with Manchester City, Manchester United, PSG, and other top sides interested in signing him.
