Erling Haaland has penned down a new nine-and-a-half-year contract with Manchester City, MySportDab reports.

The bumper deal – the longest in the club’s recent history – will see the player continue with the Etihad outfit till 2034.

His previous deal – a five-year deal – was expected to end in the 2026-27 season but he will now extend his stay by seven more years.

Since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund, Haaland has been at the top of his game, breaking records and hitting new milestones.

He won the Premier League top scorer award back-to-back in his first two seasons, helping Manchester City clinch their third and fourth consecutive Premier League title.

At the time of filing this report, he has tallied a record-breaking 111 goals in 126 appearances for City and is tipped to overtake his predecessors and become the club’s all-time top scorer soon.

His emergence as one of the best and most prolific forwards in Europe since joining City has seen him become a top target for top European clubs.

Particularly, Real Madrid had been reportedly eyeing a move for him but may now have to back off from such a move following the new long-term deal.

Close sources reveal, no release clause has been attached to the deal and the wage terms have been significantly improved to dissuade rivals from making advances.

Apart from the improved contract terms, Haaland is also understood to be happy with his development and progress under Man City manager Pep Guardiola.

Despite the team’s stuttering start to the season, he has continued on his dominant performance, scoring 16 goals with 1 assist in 21 Premier League appearances.

He will hope to continue his top-level performances as he sets out for a longer chapter with the Premier League champions.
