Real Madrid have wrapped up the league phase of the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League on a high with a deserved victory over Ligue 1 side Brest in France, MySportDab reports.
Los Blancos went into the game as clear favourites, having returned back to winning ways in the preceding clash against Atalanta following a three-man winless deadlock in the competition.
Brest who have been the surprised packages in the competition weren’t pushovers either having made a name for themselves with a terrific start to the competition.
However, against Los Blancos, who were hungry to reassert their dominance in the competition, the hosts were coming against their strongest opponents.
It was a tight affair at the start with Brest looking to pull some surprises but it wasn’t long before they were tamed by the star-studded La Liga contingents.

Three minutes before the half-hour, Rodrygo fired the visitors into the lead.
Despite the lead, they still maintained a commanding sway over proceedings and were looking set to cruise to victory.
However, they couldn’t find the back of the net again but the 27th-minute strike was enough to secure a narrow lead at the break.
The second half was no different. The La Liga and European champions picked up from where they stopped.
They piled up pressure on the hosts and finally split their backline to score their second goal.
Jude Bellingham, latching on an assist from Lucas, doubled it for the away side to edge the team close to victory.
In the 78th minutes, Rodrygo summarily ended Brest’s comeback hopes with his second to seal a 3-0 victory for Los Blancos.
Proceedings ended with the La Liga giants running away with a thumping 3-0 win to bag all three points and end the league phase on a high.
