Ricardo Calafiori scored the winner as Arsenal scrape past Wolves as the Molineux Stadium to secure all three points in the Premier League, MySportDab reports.
It was a tight affair for the Gunners as Wolves battled tooth and nail to rake home a point in front of their home fans.
Arsenal had a commanding sway over proceedings but struggled to break through the hosts’ deep block. The two sides struggled to create chances without a breakthrough and it ended goalless at the break.
Fast-rising Arsenal youngster Lewis-Skelly picked up a red card in the 43rd minute, twisting the balance of the game in Wolves favour but Arsenal were able to hold their breath without conceding a goal.
In the second half, Wolves started strongly, counting on their numerical advantage and putting pressure on the visitors but it was still deadlock in front of goal.
In the 70th minute, Wolves were also down to 10 men after Joao Gomes picked up a red card. Four minutes after Gomes’ red card, Arsenal took the lead.
Riccardo Calafiori scored to edge them close to victory. Wolves ramped up attempts to find an equalizer after conceding but could not find a breakthrough.
Meanwhile, Arsenal maintained their attacking threat going forward. They came across chances to double the lead and seal the win but could not convert them.
At the blast of the final whistle, it ended 1-0 in favor of the visitors with the Mikel Arteta-led side running away with all three points, thanks to Calafiori’s strike.
