Hakim Ziyech has joined Qatari club Al Durhail from Galatasaray, MySportDab reports.
Al Durhail confirmed the signing of the former Chelsea star as they intend to boost their attacking ranks.
Al Durhail’s head coach and former PSG manager Christophe Galtier is said to have been the driving force behind Al Durhail’s move for Ziyech.
The Ligue 1 champion is reportedly a big fan of the player and was poised to leverage the faceoff between the player and Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk to lure the player to the Qatari club.
Away from his promising start to life with Galatasaray, Ziyech suddenly slumped from a key player in Buruk’s squad into the chopping blocks.
He fell off the pecking in the wake of Galatasaray’s acquisition of Napoli’s prolific goal poacher Victor Osimhen.
The frustrating experience saw him go public lambasting Okan Buruk for his immature handling of the dressing room and his place in the team, further worsening the relationship between him and the manager.
Away from the Galatasaray deadlock, he will hope to return his game with Al Durhail having signed for the club as a free agent.
Ziyech won the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea before leaving for Galatasaray.
He won the Super Lig title in his first season before slipping off the pecking order this season.
