Juventus Sign Renato Veiga From Chelsea

Juventus have signed Renato Veiga from Chelsea just a few hours after reports first emerged of the Serie A  club bidding for the player, MySportDab reports.

Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, confirmed the Old Ladies have agreed terms with the Blues for Veiga with the player now set to travel to Italy for his medical and signing of contract.

Further details of the report reveals Veiga will be back to the Blues at the end of the season with the two clubs only settling for a loan deal with no buyout option.

The transfer fee is €5million, serving Chelsea’s need to avoid the trappings of the Financial Fair Play Rules and trimming down the squad to a manageable size for the rest of the campaign.

Veiga joined Chelsea last summer but had fallen down the pecking order in Enzo Maresca’s squad. He has managed only 7 Premier League appearances for the club.

The move to Juventus will see the player breath life back into his career after deadlock with the Blues.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also linked with a move for out-of-favor Juventus and former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luis.

The Brazilian attacking sensation, who joined the Old Ladies last summer, could be back to the Premier League after falling out of new manager Thiago Motta’s Juventus setup.

After completing the deal with Juve for the transfer of Veiga, the Blues are hoping to also seal a move for Luis to boost their midfield options.
