Manchester City have have signed top-rated Lens center-back Abdukhodir Khusanov, MySportDab reports.

The Premier League champions have been in the hunt for new legs to bolster the team amidst a dragging run of poor results lately.

Khusanov, a 20-year-old Tashkent-born Uzbek defender, emerged as a priority target for the Premier League champions following impressive performances for Lens.

Playing as a center-back, Abdukhodir Khusanov is known for his strength, intelligence, and proficiency on one-on-one situations.

He also boasts a good passing range and positional skills and is tipped to easily gel into Pep Guardiola’s tactical setup at Man City.

According to Fabrizio Romano, City began the push for Abdukhodir Khusanov in December 2024 and have now completed the deal for the services of the player just a few weeks later.

Having agreed personal terms with the youngster, they have reportedly settled all terms with Lens with their €40m for the player accepted.

Khusanov will be expected to travel down to Manchester, complete his medical and join the ranks of the Premier League dominoes and 2022-23 European champions.

Abdukhodir will be the first Uzbekistan footballer to play in the Premier League. He began his career with Belarusian club Energetik-BGU Minsk in 2022 where he made 35 league appearances, scoring 5 goals.

In 2023, he joined Lens on a four-year contract and made his debut for the team in a 1-0 Ligue 1 loss to Metz at home.

Since then, he had tallied 24 appearances for the club and will hope to continue his fairytale rise as he opens a new chapter in the Premier League with Manchester City.

He has reportedly agreed to a four-and-a-half-year contract till 2029 with the Premier League giants.
