Manchester United have poached young and fast-rising footballing talent Ayden Heaven from Arsenal, MySportDab reports.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have sealed a move for the player with his medical booked.
Heaven is Ruben Amorim’s first signing as Man United manager with the youngster expected to place in the club’s development squad for his continuous improvement before being drafted into the first team.
Heaven reportedly turned down a contract proposal by Arsenal to join the Red Devils. German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt were also interested in a deal for the player before being beaten by United.
Ayden reportedly began his career at West Ham United were he was initially played as a forward before transitioning to a defender.
He is now a a left-foot center-back and can also function as a left-back. He tasted first-team football with Arsenal but was yet to cement his place in the squad.
With just six months left on his deal, Arsenal reportedly tabled a new offer to the player but were turned down due to lack of a clear pathway for a first-team breakthrough.
Meanwhile, United were at the door with a more attractive offer enough to lure the youngster away from Hale End to Old Trafford.
While details of the deal have yet to be disclosed, it is apparent Heaven could only opt for a more interesting and promising project before choosing to pit tent with United.
It is the second time in less than a year that Man United have poached a promising young player from the Guuners’ training school after Chido Obi-Martins transfer.
