Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola’s daughter Maria has broken her silence after her parents ended their 30-year relationship recently, MySportDab reports.
We reported earlier that Guardiola and his wife Cristina Serra have decided to call an end to their matrimonial relationship of 18 years.
The pair decided to dissolve the union in December 2024 but chose to keep it private until Spanish outlet, sport, reported it.
While details of the dissolution has remained sketchy, Pep’s daughter Maria Guardiola has broken her silence.
Maria swept the divorce aside and instead hailed her parents for the pristine qualities she has learnt from them.
According to her, she has inherited her father’s stubbornness and her mother’s unsullied confidence.
The 24-year-old also relish the experience of having to travel around the world due to her father’s profession.
“Following my dad around the world to watch games gave me special memories and brought the family together,” she explained.
Curiously, Maria avoided commenting on the divorce and focused on how her parents’ qualities have shaped her into what she has been.
She is the eldest daughter, works as an influencer in Spain, and has two younger siblings Marius and Valentina.
Guardiola and Cristina Serra parted ways after being together for 30 years. Sources close to the family revealed the Manchester City manager’s ‘workaholic’ attitude and lack of enough time for the family contributed to the split.
Away from his private family issues, Pep Guardiola will hope to return Manchester City to winning ways following the team’s surprising drop-off this season.
