Real Betis have reached an agreement with Manchester United to sign Antony on lao. Till the end of the season, MySportDab reports.
In an exclusive report shared by Matte Matteo of Relevo, the two clubs have agreed on all terms for the loan transfer of the out-of-favor Brazilian winger.
Further details of the report revealed Manchester United will foot a chunk of Antony’s wages and there is no buy option attached to the deal.
This means Antony will return to Manchester United at the end of the short-term loan deal.
He has struggled for game time since the 2023-24 season and his misfortunes has shown no sign ending soon.
The move to Real Betis will offer him a chance to breath life back to his career away from the deadlock at Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old’s peak run came on his debut campaign in the 2022-23 season when he netted four goals with 2 assists in 29 Premier League appearances.
He also scored a goal in 5 EFL Cup matches and 2 in 9 Europa League matches. Last season, he could only manage a goal plus an assist in 29 Premier League appearances and none in other competitions.
His performances attracted criticism from Man United legends and pundits like Roy Keane and Gary Neville, who lamented the ridiculous £83million transfer fee paid to Ajax for his signing.
This season, his fortunes has plummeted further with new manager Ruben Amorim preferring Amad Diallo for the right-wing attacking role.
He has been reduced to a bit-part role in the squad but will hope to restore his career as he sets out for the short-term loan stint with Real Betis.
