Real Madrid have reportedly submitted an offer to Liverpool for a January move for Trent Alexander-Arnold, MySportDab reports.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been at loggerheads with Liverpool over a new contract with just a few months left to his contract.

MySportDab understands the 26-year-old wants an improved offer and has refused to agree to new wage terms with the boyhood club.

Further details reveal he wants an increased wage offer of up to over £300,000 weekly to join the ranks of the highest-earing players in the squad.

According to Capology, Trent’s current weekly wage stands at £180,000. Liverpool are reportedly ready to increase the offer but not to the tune of over £300,000 weekly.

This contract standoff has seen the two parties near breaking points with reports increasingly linking the young defender to a free summer exit.

Real Madrid have registered a long-standing interest in signing Trent Alexander-Arnold as a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal.

Recently, Spanish outlet, Marca, reported that Trent has told Liverpool he wants to leave the club and join Real Madrid – a rumour that was later dismissed by Liverpool manager Arne Slot.

Now, according to reports from Daily Mail, Real Madrid have ramped up their move for Trent and hav engaged Liverpool in talks for a possible January move.

The report adds the club have yet to make a personal offer to Arnold but has made an offer to Liverpool which has been rejected by the Premier League side.

It is still a nervy situation for Liverpool at the moment as they have yet to agree a new deal with Arnold.

He is now free to talk to other clubs going forward and the Reds only have this January transfer window to cash in on the homegrown star or lose him for free in the summer if no new deal is agreed.
