Tammy Abraham’s stoppage-time winner completed a dramatic comeback as AC Milan defeated rivals Inter Milan 3-2 to claim the Supercoppa Italiana title in Riyadh, MySportDab Report.
Sérgio Conceição’s side fought back from 2-0 down at Al-Awwal Park, securing the Rossoneri’s first triumph in the competition since 2016.
Inter, chasing a record fourth consecutive Supercoppa title, took the lead in first-half stoppage time through captain Lautaro Martínez, who displayed quick footwork before slotting past Mike Maignan.
Just minutes into the second half, Mehdi Taremi doubled their advantage after latching onto a pinpoint pass from Stefan de Vrij and finishing coolly.
Milan, however, responded swiftly. Théo Hernández reignited their hopes with a superb 20-yard free-kick in the 50th minute. The full-back later turned provider, delivering a precise cross for Christian Pulisic to level the score in the 80th minute.
With extra time looming, Rafael Leão found space on the left and set up Abraham for a tap-in, completing Milan’s incredible turnaround in the third minute of stoppage time.
The Rossoneri’s victory secured their eighth Supercoppa Italiana title, drawing level with Inter and just one behind Juventus, who hold the record with nine wins. It also marked back-to-back derby victories for Milan across all competitions for the first time since 2011.
Conceição made history as the first Milan coach to win his opening two matches in charge since Filippo Inzaghi in 2014.
Meanwhile, Pulisic’s equalizer took his tally to 10 goals for the season, making him the first American to score double figures in consecutive seasons in Europe’s top five leagues since Clint Dempsey.
Milan’s thrilling victory not only secured silverware but also sent a strong message about their resurgence under Conceição.
