Victor Boniface’s slated move to Al-Nassr has been called off in the last hours, MySportDab reports.
The Bayer Leverkusen sensation had reportedly agreed personal terms for a move to the Saudi side with club terms equally agreed but the deal is now off.
According to Fabrizio Romano, despite Boniface’s closeness to securing a move to the Saudi club, Al-Nassr were yet to give a greenlight and were exploring other alternatives.
Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen had reportedly given a nod for the move to happen after being offered €60million by the Saudi side.
But still, a final greenlight was awaited from the Saudi club which did not happen.
In a recent report shared by Fabrizio Romano, Bayer Leverkusen have accepted the shock development and are ready to reintegrate the player back to the squad.
Bayer director Rolfes said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano;
“There have been talks, but we are happy that he will be training with us today. I assume that he will stay”.
“He feels comfortable here, his attitude towards the club is unchanged”.
Recall Boniface was dropped from Bayer Leverkusen training session amidst interest by Al-Nassr but he will be back to the squad to continue his career.
MySportDab understands the transfer deadlock stemmed from Al-Nassr’s interest in Aston Villa and Colombian sensation as well.
They were reportedly negotiating with Aston Villa at the same time with Bayer Leverkusen as they wanted the Premier League sensation as an alternative to Boniface.
At the time of filing this report, it has been confirmed they have brokered a deal with Aston Villa to sign Duran further leading to the collapse of this Boniface move.
Boniface has been brilliant for Bayer Leverkusen since joining the club from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise last season.
He will hope to focus on his career with the Bundesliga champions away from the distraction of the ill-fated transfer saga.
