Vinícius Júnior Receives Two-Match Ban, Cleared for Spanish Super Cup

Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior will be available for the club’s Spanish Super Cup campaign despite receiving a two-game domestic ban from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) following his red card in Madrid’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Valencia last Friday, MySportDab Reports.

The Brazilian was sent off in the 79th minute after striking Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski when Madrid were trailing 1-0.

Despite his dismissal, Los Blancos staged a late comeback, with substitute Luka Modric equalizing in the 85th minute before Jude Bellingham netted a stoppage-time winner to seal all three points.

Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti expressed his disagreement with the red card after the match, and the club swiftly appealed the decision.

While red cards for violent conduct typically result in a three-match suspension, the RFEF reduced Vinícius’ ban to two LaLiga games, allowing him to participate in the Spanish Super Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Vinícius, who initially reacted angrily to the decision, later apologized for his actions. He had to be restrained by teammate Antonio Rüdiger and goalkeeping coach Luis Llopis after the sending-off.

The 23-year-old will be eligible for Madrid’s Super Cup semi-final against Mallorca on Thursday but will miss the club’s next two LaLiga fixtures against Las Palmas and Real Valladolid.

Madrid, currently leading LaLiga with 43 points, will aim to defend their Super Cup title, with a potential final showdown against either Barcelona or Athletic Bilbao.
