West Ham United have unveiled Graham Potter as the club’s new manager a few hours after former boss Julen Lopetegui was sacked, MySportDab reports.

The Hammers’ club statement confirmed the appointment of the former Chelsea boss as new manager.

Potter’s appointment into the dugout as West Ham manager marks his return to football club management after proceeding on a lengthy sabbatical following his Chelsea deadlock.

Recall the English gaffer was sacked as Chelsea manager in the 2022-23 season following a poor run of form.

From the dugout in the Blue side of London, he proceeded on a break and had turned down countless managerial offers since then.

The West Ham role will see the 49-year-old take charge of his third Premier League club after spells with Brighton and Chelsea.

West Ham United are 14th on the Premier League table with 23 points.  He is expected to reverse the recent misfortunes under his predecessor and return the team winning ways.

Potter established himself as an elite Premier League manager following a brilliant spell with Brighton in the Premier League.

He was renowned for his attacking and possessive style of play which saw Brighton emerge as one of the formidable opponents in the English top flight.

The impressive spell in the Seagulls’ dugout saw him rose to the peaks of his managerial career by landing the Chelsea job after Thomas Tuchel was sacked.

However, he struggled at the club and was sacked midway into the campaign. He will hope to turn a corner away from the deadlock with the Blues and reposition his managerial career with a brilliant performance with the Hammers.

The club confirmed he has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract and will be given the leeway to set up his backroom staff.
