Amad Diallo’s injury update has been confirmed amidst reports he has been ruled out for the rest of the season, MySportDab reports.
According to reports, the in-form Man United winger picked an ankle injury while in training and is set to be out for a long time.
Other reports claim Diallo’s season might well be over due to the injury.
Now, according to The Mail, Diallo’s season with Man United may not be over. The injury is said to be still under assessment by the club’s medics.
Further details reveal the player is likely to miss two months of action. This means he could be back in the fold before the season ends.
Reacting to the injury blow, Diallo took to his social media to register his disappointment with the development but insisted he hopes to be back stronger after the injury setback.
”Extremely disappointed to be writing this message at such a crucial time of the season.
”Unfortunately, I will be out for some time with an injury. I will come back stronger than ever. Time to support the boys from the outside. Still loads to play for,” he wrote on social media.
Diallo has been United’s top performer this season. He has six goals plus six assists in 22 Premier League appearances for the club, including two in eight Europa League appearances.
The 22-year-old recently penned down a new long-term contract with the club following his standout performances.
Now, the injury setback is likely to erode his gains but he will hope to bounce back stronger following the blow.
Other United players who reportedly picked up injuries during training in the week are Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, and Toby Collyer – all midfielders.
Ruben Amorim is expected to bring on the likes of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen in the following fixtures due to the depleted midfield options at his disposal now.
