Arsenal have suffered a fresh Bukayo Saka with the player expected t tarry longer on the sidelines following his hamstring injury, MySportDab reports.

The Gunners dropped heady and optimistic shots of the English winger, propping up his fitness as he nears return from his lengthy injury layoff.

However, they now have to wait longer due to setbacks on the recovery, as reported by the Sun.

According to the English outlet, Saka was expected back around ending of March after undergoing surgery but the return is now expected to be delayed by eight more weeks due to recovery setbacks.

The setback has worsen Arsenal’s injury crisis this season with Gabriel Jesus also sidelined. To further deepen the challenge, the Gunners’ priority forward Kai Havertz picked up a hamstring issue in the team’s winter training camp in Dubai and has been ruled out of the rest of the season.

This has left the team with only Raheem Sterling, Leandro Trossard, and Ethan Nwaneri as attacking options with Gabriel Martinelli also sidelined.

With the injury crisis worsening, Mikel Arteta is expected to improvise with internal solutions while waiting for reinforcement in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners will aim to stay within a touching distance to table-toppers Liverpool who are seven points clear.

However, the recent injury blows could dampen the team’s chances on the race for the title. They will take on struggling Leicester City at the weekend with Sterling, Nwaneri, and Trossard expected to play bigger roles in the match due to depleted attacking options.
