Speculations on the future of Jamal Musiala has summarily ended as the player puts pen to paper for a new contract with the Bundesliga giants, MySportDab reports.
Musiala, 21, had been a top transfer target for European football juggernauts with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, and others knocking on the doors of the youngster for a deal.
The seething interests for the former Chelsea U-18 star stemmed from his standout performances for Bayern, coupled with a brilliant spell with the German national team despite his young age.
Moreover, he was on the verge of running out of his contract as he had only 12 months with no new deal in place.
It was understood Bayern would stop at nothing to tie him to a new contract but with the two parties yet to renew terms, the gap was filled with reports of the player’s possible exit from the Bundesliga giants.
Now, all the speculations have ended as he has finally agreed and signed a new four-year contract to extend his stay with the Bavarians to 2030.
Speaking after signing the new deal, Musiala expressed his joy of opening a new chapter with the club, adding he is ready to give his all.
Musiala is a home-grown Bayern Munich player. He joined the club from Chelsea U-18 and quickly rose through the ranks to break into the first team in 2019-20 season, before cementing his place in the next season.
He has totalled 260 club career appearances for the club, scoring 60 goals. This season, Musiala has already racked up 10 Bundesliga goals plus two assists in 18 games.
In the Champions League, he has two goals plus three assists in nine appearances and will hope to continue on his top-level performance following the new deal.
