“I Want To Stay At Milan,” Joao Felix Snubs Chelsea Return

On-loan Chelsea midfielder Joao Felix has expressed his desire to continue his career in Serie A with AC Milan when his loan deal expires, MySportDab reports.

The Portuguese sensation joined AC Milan in the final hours of the January transfer window just a few months after signing for Chelsea on a permanent contract from Atletico Madrid for £46million.

His loan exit from the Blues was long envisaged following a dragging run of depleted game time with the club under new manager Enzo Maresca.

Now, speaking on whether he would chose to stay on a permanent deal with his new club, the former loanee to Barcelona has answered in the affirmative.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, the 25-year-old confirmed he is already in love with AC Milan and would relish the chance to continue on a permanent contract if he has his way.

“I’ve joined AC Milan on loan but if there’s a chance to stay beyond this season… I’d be happy”.

“This is a top European club, I’m already in love with everything here. Kaká was my idol. Inter were also keen but for me was impossible… as I wanted Milan,” he said.

Milan paid £5million for the loan deal and it is understood there was no buy option attached. This means Felix is expected to return to the Blues at the expiration of his loan tenure.

However, Italian sources claim AC Milan are ready to sign the player permanently as he seemed to have settled fast with the team.

Felix scored on his debut for Milan, helping the team to a 3-1 Serie A win over Roma. He has been tipped to shine bright with the Serie A outfit away from his deadlock at Chelsea.

However, his chances of securing a permanent deal will be dependent on Chelsea’s decision to let him leave or integrate him back into the squad.

Meanwhile, Enzo Maresca made it clear he is not missing the Portuguese as the loan deal was mutually beneficial to both the player and the club.
