Jose Mourinho And Mauro Icardi Embroiled In Bitter Social Media Fued

In a fiery exchange, Galatasaray forward Mauro Icardi and Fenerbahce’s manager José Mourinho went head to head on social media, fuelling a war of words between the two arch rivals, MySportDab Reports.

Their ongoing feud started when Mourinho shared a post showing a potential handball by Galatasaray defender Davinson Sanchez, during his side’s match with Gaziantep FK. Ackermann congratulated Portugal’s handball team in a mocking manner, insinuating double standards in sanctioning by the referees.

Icardi responded quickly, with the former Inter Milan forward mocking Mourinho by posting a meme of the coach looking crushed, referencing Mourinho’s worldwide known moniker “The Special One.”

The Argentine no. 9 also shared an image suggesting that a Fenerbahce player touched the ball with his hand, adding fuel to the fire regarding refereeing decisions in the Turkish top-flight.

Mourinho brushed off the controversy during a press conference with his trademark wit. “I am Special One, not The Special One,” he added. “I have 25 years of career and 26 titles, I don’t need one match to define my career. My career is success about 25 years.))

Mourinho was asked by reporters to respond to Icardi’s barbs, to which he replied sarcastically: “Icardi is a GOAT (Greatest of All Time), and I will not comment on a GOAT’s speech. “He is too big, I won’t comment.”

The exchange have given even more fire to the rivalry existing between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray, with both clubs struggling for domestic dominance.

As the feud continues off the pitch, Fenerbahce’s attention will now turn to their next Europa League game against Anderlecht on Thursday.
