Manchester United are set to sweat with Kobbie Mainoo’s injury blow, MySportDab reports.
The fast-rising young midfielder has emerged as the club’s priority player tipped to play a big role in United’s revamp process.
He has made 18 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils this season, including three in the Europa League scoring one goal.
Now, it appears he has suffered a temporary setback with reports of an injury blow that will sideline him for weeks.
According to The Athletic, Mainoo fell on the list of United players who picked up injury blows during the club’s training this week.
While details of the injury have yet to be revealed, sources close to the United dressing room reveal he is expected to miss weeks of action due to the blow.
Mainoo’s injury will be a big blow to Man United, having cemented his place as new manager Ruben Amorim’s key player.
However,. Amorim is expected to look inwards for the solution to the absence of the player who will miss the club’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur, including other crops of fixtures
Notably, Kobbie Mainoo was not the only player who picked up an injury during the Man United training session.
United’s most in-form player in the campaign Amad Diallo is said to have also picked up an injury – an ankle issue – and could miss the rest of the season.
Another midfield blow and injury casualty for the club during the training is Manuel Ugarte. The £50m signing from PSG is set to miss the Tottenham Hotspur match with his return date yet to be determined.
Academy youngster, Toby Collyer also got injured and is expected to miss the match as well.
With the scores of injury blows rocking United’s midfield, likes of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro are the available midfield options for Amorim against Tottenham Hotspur.
